Scientist, Protein Engineering and Production

Protein Potential's Research and Development Group focuses on producing intellectual property and DNA and protein products for research and commercial development. Currently we have an opening in our Pharmaceutical Sciences Department for the position of Scientist, Protein Engineering and Production.

Responsibilities

The Pharmaceutical Sciences Department is primarily responsible for scientific input and guidance as well as execution and documentation for the development of recombinant protein-based or Salmonella typhi Ty21a-based live attenuated oral vaccines. The Scientist will manage, interact and coordinate internal and external collaborators.

Conceives, designs, conducts and leads advanced independent or multi-disciplinary research driven by strategic business needs in product, assay, process, method-or system-integration development. Initiates, directs and executes scientific research, development and manufacturing process strategies to support new and existing products. Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions and products. The Scientist will be expected to make contributions to scientific literature and conferences.

Requirements

• PhD with 3-5 years postdoctoral experience.

• Knowledge and hands-on experience in biochemical characterization of proteins and nucleic acids and process development in recombinant protein purification.

• Knowledge and technical proficiency in microbiological and molecular genetics. Hands-on experience in recombinant DNA technologies and genome manipulation of microorganisms.

• Ability to effectively communicate with broad scientific audience both orally and in writing.

• GLP, cGMP and cGCP trainings.
